Lydon Donates Life-Saving Defibrillator to the Skerries Community

Lydon is delighted to announce the donation and installation of a new, publicly accessible Defibrillator at Red Island, Skerries, a vital addition to local emergency resources and an important investment in community safety.

The official installation was marked by the attendance of several key community representatives, including the Mayor of Fingal, Tom O’Leary, Mary T. Daly, Director of Operations at Fingal County Council. Members of the Skerries Frosties, the dedicated all‑year‑round sea swimming group, also joined the event.

This initiative reflects Lydon’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities and enhancing public wellbeing.

The newly installed Defibrillator is user‑friendly, accessible, and designed to save lives, significantly improving survival rates in cases of sudden cardiac arrest, where rapid response is crucial.

Speaking at the handover, representatives from Lydon highlighted the importance of ensuring lifesaving equipment is available in busy public spaces like Red Island, which attracts swimmers, walkers, families, and visitors throughout the year.

We are proud to contribute to improving emergency preparedness in Skerries and will continue to support initiatives that strengthen safety and community resilience.
